BRUSHES: (Except for "b)" Do not buy stiff, white bristle brushes used for Oils or Acrylics)
  1. 1 each: Soft White or Golden Nylon (or Sable): Rounds - #10, #6, #4

  2. One Flat 2” Wash Brush (Typically for Chinese Painting - Inexpensive)
  3. 1: 1” or 2” goat hair mop
  4. Optional Brushes:

    a) Soft White or Golden Nylon (or Sable): Flats - ¾, ½, or 1 inch

    b) Long Handle Bristle - #12

    c) Rigger

    d) Fan

PAPER:
You may use Pre-stretched Watercolor Blocks of 140 lb Cold Press or
2 Sheets Watercolor Paper Cold Press 200 lb. (The higher the number, the thicker the paper.
90 lb is too thin for most purposes except for practice. (Note: the quality of your paper
and the quality of your paint affects the quality of your end product.)

Miscellaneous:
Watercolor palette (White Foam Plates will do)
2 water containers (Plastic margarine or yogurt tubs are good)
Winsor & Newton Colorless Art Masking Fluid
Pencils: HB and 2H
Eraser (White art is recommended)
Newsprint
Spray water bottle
X-acto knife with #1blade
Folder
Paper towels
Cotton cloth
Cellulous or Natural Sponge
Toothbrush, Cardboard, Plastic Wrap, Masking Fluid, White Crayon or Watercolor Crayon
Ultra-Fine Sharpie or 001 Micron
